Products that complement each other are combined into Power Packs to offer you the maximum power and performance upgrade for the minimum outlay. All costs including parts, fitting and labour are included in the price. Before and after dyno runs are also recorded to show the improvement.

As part of this Power Pack, the car's engine management is remapped using the infamous EcuTek tuning tools, which results in impressive performance gains when combined with the included performance exhaust and K&N air filter. You can expect gains of 30 bhp and 35-40 lbs/ft of torque. The T75 back box is a high quality stainless steel part, and as it is modular it can be used with most exhaust upgrades you may wish to add at a later date (or with a standard system). The K&N panel filter offers the high performance and long lasting air filtration properties that you expect of a K&N product.

This Power Pack adds the Magnex downpipe to the performance package. Also fabricated from high quality stainless steel, the addition of this part offers a dramatic improvement in low rpm torque, as well as a small increase in power. Power Pack 3 adds the Power Engineering sports catalyst centre section to the package. The full CAT system is a high quality stainless steel system, gas-flow rated at 400bhp. It is made up of a twin dump front pipe, centre section with CAT and a rear box, and comes with a lifetime warranty (CAT excluded).

ENGINE MANAGEMENT UPGRADE
 
 
 
Many conversions available in the UK are either a crude boost clamp and bleed valve, designed to fool the ECU into thinking that it is seeing standard boost or copies of Japanese software alterations.
 
The problems are that with a boost clamp it is impossible to alter boost, fuel and ignition settings and if the boost is raised then the ECU delivers fuel and ignition settings for standard boost, i.e. too far advanced and too little fuel. A crude and dangerous upgrade. With the Japanese settings the car is set to run 100 RON fuel. Also Japanese tuners are not too concerned about torque and driveability. They want one thing only: power. Also consider that a bleed valve removes the ECU's ability to control boost. Under normal conditions, should the ECU encounter a fault condition with one of its critical sensors, it will drop the boost significantly to preserve the engine until the problem is resolved. With a crude boost clamp, the ECU is no longer in control of boost and so cannot drop boost. The potential result is severe engine damage.
 
 
   
       
For 97-98 UK model cars, we use an additional board which fits into your ECU and allows us access to the complex software inside. For 99-06 model cars, we use EcuTek software to reprogram your ECU via the diagnostic port of the car. Power Engineering worked closely with EcuTek to develop this software, and as a result are the most experienced tuners to have this facility.
 
We retain all the car's clever electronics but re-map ignition curves, fuel maps and the closed loop boost control system. The ECU remains programmable so if in the future something needs to be changed then we can. The car will retain all of its civilised characteristics and legal emissions.

 
Programming the ECU
 
   
       
The only way to tell that that either conversion has been performed is to drive the car. There are no visual clues. Even the Subaru diagnostic tool does not show that the ECU has undergone brain surgery.
 
The result does depend on the vehicle and the specification. Torque and turbo response is where we concentrate the mapping. Typical figures show improvements of +20 bhp and 30 lbs/ft of torque for a completely standard car or +30 bhp and 35-40 lbs/ft when combined with a peformance exhaust and air filter. These are improvements shown at the power and torque peaks, elsewhere in the rev range we regularly see figures much more than these -- torque increases of 50 lbs/ft not being uncommon. Cost includes full rolling road set up and we need the car for a full day. Power and torque graphs for before and after the conversion will be recorded and printed for you to take away with your car.

AIR FILTERS - BLITZ SUS INTAKE SYSTEM
 
The Blitz air filter is one of the best performing and best looking automotive air filters money can buy. The entire filtration element is made from a fine stainless steel mesh, which means the filter never wears out, and has substantially less restriction than any other filter. The same fine mesh in the top of the filter further improves the amount of air it can flow. All of these features mean Blitz air filters are capable of releasing more power than any other filter available. This complete kit includes all the necessary pipework, brackets, adapters, etc. and can give power gains of up to 12 BHP. AIR FILTERS - POWER INDUCTION KIT

Developed using a large K&N cone filter and special curved adaptor ring this Induction kit offers an answer to all MY99-00 model Impreza's. The specially designed adaptor ring allows a smooth air flow into the air mass meter meaning it can read the correct amount of air being passed over the hot-wire. This allows the vehicle to produce more power whilst maintaining the correct fuelling.

Available for nearly all turbocharged Japanese sports cars, Blitz dump valves are supplied with a full fitting kit and interchangeable trumpets for different sounds. The main purpose of the dump valves is to improve the response of the turbo by quickly releasing the boost pressure before the turbo stalls.
